Psychosis Title Creation
I created this title sequence so that it would show to the audience the name of the thriller in an mysterious way.
Making Music
Due to needing some music in our thriller opening sequence, I decided to create some music on Garage band to be put over our footage. I did this so that the thriller opening sequence would feature more enigma.

Editing Experiment
Here is a test that we made in order to see how we want to edit the opening. We have used a bad film effect and changed the clips to 50% speed. From this we have learnt that the effect and speed work well. We won't need to add any more effects. The jump cuts take just the right amount of time to create a flickering effect between two ideas.

Location List
For the filming of our thriller opening we have decided to use a graveyard in Wem for the location. Here is an birds-eye view of the location.
We went to the graveyard to have a look around. The path seems perfect for the main character to walk down when he wears the hood and mask. There is plenty of space for camera equipment and the ground is flat so it won't cause problems when filming on it. The area is quiet so there won't be many distractions by passing members of the public.
Costume List
This is the first piece of clothing which will be used in our thriller opening. This piece of clothing will be used underneath the coat shown below and will be used effectively to shadow our actors face in specific scenes. Although everything apart from the hood will be covered up by the coat this is generally what we want, and this is the effect we want to have for our thriller opening. As for the colour, it'll be a black hoodie on purpose so that it matches the military trench coat we'll be using but also match the dark theme which I am trying to convey throughout the start of my sub-genre horror thriller.
This will be the military trench styled coat in which we'll be using in the thriller opening. This style of coat will be used specifically to add a more dark, gothic theme to the opening and will allow us to add mystery when presenting the weapon our actor will be presenting throughout our short opening. After some audience research we found out that not only my group but our targeted audience enjoyed the look of and liked the longer style coat to either just a hoodie or a shorter coat which was above the waist.
The type of bottoms that we'll be dressing our actor in will be black skinny styled jeans, and from this we will be expecting our decision of bottoms will match our choice of top, which will be the hoodie and military trench coat.
The style of shoes we've decided for our actor to wear is a type of boot. This type of boot has been used specifically to add to the fact that we want a more gothic, dark and military type theme. Due to the fact that our thriller opening is based on a psychotic young boy whom has a split personality disorder, the link between outfit style, such as the jackets, coats, trousers and in fact shoes fit rather well together.

This, for part of our thriller opening will be the type of hair style we'll be trying to archive. This will also allow us to give light and allow us to properly see our actors face, instead of his hair falling over his face when it isn't wanted.
Prop List
A list of the props I'll be using in my thriller opening sequence.
- A mirror for the masked man to look into whilst in the bathroom / bedroom scene.
- A Mask for our actor to wear.
- Hair-gel to slick back our actors hair for specific scenes in our opening.
- Boots for the man to wear all the time.
- Trousers for the man to wear all the time.
- Trench Coat/Hoodie for our actor to wear all the time.
Actor Make-Up Experiment
It was written in my thriller opening, and drawn on my storyboards that I would use a skeleton painted face for my actor in specific bits of the opening, since me and my group did not know if this would work we decided that would would test it out first.
What we would need for this experiment would be:
black face paint - white face paint - a paintbrush - a sponge
What we would need for this experiment would be:
black face paint - white face paint - a paintbrush - a sponge
This was the initial effect me and my group were hoping for. And this would our final result when trying it.
Due to the time taken and how tricky it would be to do this, we decided that we would instead use a white face mask instead of face paint, in order to save time and effort.
Psychosis Anamatic
This is my anamatic. It shows how long each shot will be and for how long the opening will last. It creates a good guideline for when I go to film the opening. I created it by taking images of my storyboard and importing them into Final Cut. I changed the length of which each image appeared for so that it would represent the correct time we'd have the actual shot being shown for, and then put them together in the right order. This created an idea of how the final version of the opening will look.

Psychosis Storyboard
This is the storyboard for my thriller opening. Some sketches were draw up of what the shots will look like and notes were written below each picture that explain what is happening for future reference.

Final Thriller Opening Sequence Synopsis
First we see a close up of a pair of army boots. This is the first appearance of enigma because we don't know who's wearing the boots. Slowly, the character whom is wearing the boots is revealed. He starts to walk forward and slowly pulls down his hood. We see that he is wearing a mask, covering his face. The shots flicker to show how he looks normally. We see that he is a normal teenage boy but we know that something isn't right with him because of the unusual disguise. We see him pull out a weapon but we don't know why he has it. The next scene is indoors. We don't know where it is but it's dark and mysterious. We see someone lighting candles, this is an enigma because we aren't sure who is lighting them and why they are lighting them. The next shot is of someone in the corner of the room, sat rocking backwards and forwards as if they are distressed or scared. We don't know who this person is. Next, we see the boy looking in the mirror at himself. He looks normal but we see flickers of his mask. We see his hand covered in blood. He lifts it to his face and smears the blood slowly down his cheek. He hears people shouting behind him so he slowly turns around. Lasers are being pointed on his chest. We realise that he has guns pointed at him, turning to face the camera and grinning, the only word he says is 'bang'
Final Thriller Film Synopsis
At the very start of the film the main character is killed by the guns which are pointed on his at the end of the opening. However the audience is convinced that he actually survives as he continues to play as the protagonist throughout the rest of the film. A female character later introduced into the story line falls in love with him and eventually discovers that he is in fact dead. Through the film the female character is oblivious to the fact that the love of her life is killing everyone she loves, and killing everyone she has ever cared about. At the very end of the time it is revealed that she is also in fact dead and was indeed killed by her love early in the film, although her body was hidden from sight.

Creating a Production Company Logo
Whilst given the task to create a logo I started to firstly started to bounce a few ides around in Photoshop and decided that I wanted to create a rather unique logo. Starting with the basic idea that I wanted some type of symbol and then a unique name, I started to sketch out the one you see above, and from using basic lines. I thought it would have a better effect if I made the simplistic lines into a bone type shape and therefore this is the result.
Wanting to get a background I decided that would drop red ink into a fish tank and then record the effect it.
After recording the ink dropping I placed the file with the ink droplets along with drawn logo and put both of the on top of each other. After doing such I added a fade in and fade out effect at the start and end of the logo so that it would look much better.
This is the final product.
The quality is bad due to the fact Final Cut Pro wouldn't work properly.

Identified Target Audience
Within our group we made it a priority to make sure that we had an age range. This was so that we could create our final piece to be appropriate for the specific age range. After surveying a range of audiences which contained a variety of age ranges we came to the conclusion that the preferred age range would be from 15-25.
Keeping this factor in mind we will be creating a thriller opening to match the audiences and age ranges needs. This will be evaluated upon later on, after we finish our thriller opening.

Creating A Protagonist
Kroven Grey Asesinato.
26 Years (-|-) 6'6 Feet Height (-|-) Male (-|-) Werewolf
Short Biography
There is one initial rule, and only one that applies to every creature that comes into contact with Kroven. If you mistake his deceitful nature as kindness, you will end up dead.
A demonic, cunning, muscular machine of pure screwed up intelligence is the core of what Kroven is. Covered in scars, crimson orbs, and maroon hair, this deadly male is definitely not someone to just 'mess' with. With a smirk plastered on his jaws, and blood lust fixated in his eyes, it is almost impossible to read his moods, but one thing is a given. Above everything else, if in any way, you harm someone he has come to love or care for, you shall be the next creature hanging by their hind legs, from a tree, in the darkness as the blood is drained from your body.
~
Clothing
Kroven clothing wouldn't be classed as smart but more of casual feel. During scenes he'd be seen wearing a pair of black jeans, black boots, and no shirt, which would then allow the audience to see the multiple wounds over his chest, left arm, and back. These scars would be linked to past trauma, from family problems to fighting for dominance. The limited clothing would play a huge part in the personality of the character, but also his slight hidden sensitive side.
Lighting
There are many different ways in which lighting could convey the character of Kroven which would reflect his personality. To match his personality the lighting whenever Kroven' is present would be dark, or any light would be dimmed, so that the idea that he is a "Bad" character would continue.
Camera
Different camera actions would be used when representing Kroven. As for visual hierarchy Kroven would automatically stand taller than everyone else in shot or in the scene. Due to his size, being 6'6 he would automatically be taller than everyone else in the scene with whatever subject or activity he was doing.
Sound
There would be a specific type of Non-diegetic sound which would be playing in the background whilst Kroven was present or in the scene. The type of music which would be played would be more towards an scary, creepy noise, almost giving the effect that it wasn't a piece of music at all, or even a song. Here is an example of the type of the non-diegetic sound which would play with the presence of Kroven. The volume of this sound would be rather quiet and always in the background of every situation that Kroven was in, or it may be loudened if there was an emphasis on the moment.
"Click Here For The 1st Example"
"Click Here For The 2nd Example"
There would also be diegetic sound during some parts of Krovens appearance, which could be shown by him singing it, for example this is Krovens theme song but it would also be a piece of music which he could be shown singing. For this the volume would be a lot louder so that the audience could hear and see what was happening.
"Click Here For The 1st Example"
As for Kroven's accent, he has a very prominent accent which has a Spanish tint to it. Kroven's mother was Hispanic, and this is where he had gained his slight Spanish accent.
Location & Setting
The general location where the whole movie / Tv Drama would be based would be in a dense forest either in Scotland or in Canada, therefore the terrain would be a resemblance of where a wolf pack would live. This being linked to the fact that Kroven is a werewolf / human-wolf shifter and so is his pack and rivalled pack.

The actual place where "most" of the action would be happening is a century old abandoned mansion like castle which was found by Kroven and then adopt by himself, and brought back to life, so that it was in fact inhabitable. The set design for this would be set inside the mansion and although it would be placed in every room it would be mostly based inside the top floor bedrooms, grand hall, kitchen, dungeons, forests, village, and the abandoned forgotten parts of the mansion which only Kroven knows about.
This setting would be based deep within the forest of Canada / Scotland and would be done so that the mansion would be on top of a hill, and would over look the village.

This setting, props and design of the inside of the mansion would be more-or-less how Krovens mansion would be set out, and the idea that it was abandoned would fit perfectly.

Making A Title
I'd decided to create a title for a thriller to which I called " Onyx Chain "
Firstly I started by adding a text box to my piece of work, and I did this by clicked an icon at the bottom of an 'A' and from this a drop down menu appeared, to which I clicked Text.
Adding 'Onyx Chain' to this box which I'd selected I changed the font so that instead of the default font which came up to start of with there would be a little bit more variety in my work.
Once I'd done this the text was dragged form the viewing box and onto the timeline.
After I'd done this I selected and imported a film which was titled 'Damaged Film'. I put this layer above my text layer once on the timeline so that it would give a burning texture to my text once the clip was rendered and played. I also decided to add some effects to my text. I did this by going to Effects, Video Filters, Glow then Bloom. Not only was this added but I added a 'Bad Film' effect and 'Vignette'.
Once this had been done I also added another layer of this, but this time it would be underneath my original 'Onyx Chain' type, and although it did say the same thing (Onyx Chain) I made it so that the opacity of the layer was slightly lower than the one above it, and also that all the letters were placed over each other, in a large blob. This effect actually worked rather well because it ended up looking like a symbol at the bottom of my screen.
After this was done I rendered my clip and then uploaded it to Youtube.
This was my final product.

Storyboarding
This was the classes initial practice of a story board, we thought about the camera shots and the different things that would be happening and all together we came up with this. The general idea was to give up some help with the thought process and how it works to when we individually come to make our own thriller opening title sequence.
The thriller that I'd chosen to storyboard is Goldeneye. I started by drawing six boxes on a drawing programme on my laptop, since I found it easier to draw on my laptop than to draw on paper, this also saved valuable time. I didn't add as much detail due to the fact it was only a storyboard but I did did add enough for myself and anyone else to understand what was happening in each scene.
Below I have written brief descriptions of what happens, sound effects and camera angles. This is so that the reader can have more detail about how the scene is going to be filmed.
1) Plane flying over a damn and forest. The camera tilts upwards for an establishing shot and then a zoom out.
2) Close up of a gate opening and a man running through the gate. Made on a dolly close to the floor.
3) Close up of a grapple hook clipping onto a railing, the rope is pulled tight before moving onto the next shot.
4) Pan upwards shot to man standing on a ledge.
5) Looking down as the man does the camera follows him as he jumps.
6) Extreme long shot, and a tilt downwards as man falls.

The Dolly
In this image the class set up the Dolly and the track so that each individual person could try and replicate a vertigo effect.
Once the track was set up we started to test different ways in which we could accomplish this. After lining a few backing people at the far end of the camera we placed one person ( Steve ) closer towards the camera. I then pushed the camera on the track forwards toward the person placed closer to the camera and then zooming out we get this vertigo effect.
